What changes for PTE
Computer-scored items, heavy on pronunciation and fluency.
PTE Academic Speaking is scored by a computer, item by item, on a strict clock. NOVA will be tuned for that shape, not stretched over it.
Five item types, scored by computer
Read Aloud, Repeat Sentence, Describe Image, Re-tell Lecture and Answer Short Question. NOVA will practise each one as its own drill, with the input first and the coaching after.
Pronunciation and oral fluency carry the weight
PTE weights pronunciation and oral fluency heavily. Our pronunciation estimate is labelled as an AI estimate everywhere it appears, and here it matters most. We will publish how it is validated before we show any PTE score.
Strict per-item timing
Every item has its own recording window and the microphone closes on time. Practice will run on the same clock, so the pace is nothing new on the day.
